Goals and Objectives : Note this is a first writing so it may be re worked at our discretion .

GOALS & OBJECTIVES I. Monitor and respond to any
> legislation/regulations having an impact upon herpetoculture. Offer
> realistic and common sense input to all agencies involved in the
same
> by presenting model regulations or demonstrating the inefficacy of
> irresponsible proposals. II. Create a set of guidelines to address
> various high visibility public issues, e.g., humane husbandry
> practice, safety protocol when keeping potentially dangerous
species,
> personal and public health protocol, etc. III. Establish a public
> education program with a unified syllabus to increase awareness,
> understanding, and conservation of herpetofauna. IV. Establish a
> database of current laws and regulations nationwide that affect
> herpetoculture. V. Publish a quality electronic newsletter to be
> disseminated on a regular basis to all supporters as well as making
> facility for emergency legislative alert dispersal via email
> database. VI. Appoint a team having appropriate resources and
> experience to examine current repressive regulations and determine
a
> course of action for removal. VII. Assist in any herpetological
> studies undertaken by wildlife agencies, environmental agencies,
> institutions of higher learning, etc. VIII. Create and maintain a
web
> site that offers a variety of information and data valuable to any
> herpetoculturist. IX. Establish various teams to focus upon fund
> raising, membership recruitment, herp society liaison, herp
welfare,
> commercial enterprise, public relations, academic liaison, etc. X.
> Organise the nation into appropriate regions/states and appoint a
> coordinator/director to administrate activities within his/her
> specified area. XI. Establish a multi-level membership to
facilitate
> herpetoculturists from all occupations and levels of activity. XII.
> Establish a team dedicated to address the logistics of reptile and
> amphibian transport at all levels. XIII. Establish legal
organization
> of the proper nature to allow approproate accounting, revenue
> generation, etc. XIV. Establish liaison with other watchdog
> organizations where appropriate. XV. Create a specific team charged
> with investigating and addressing herp-related issues within the
pet
> shop industry.
